ABOUT BANTU BELLY CATERING
Bantu Belly Catering Ltd. is the brainchild of Chiz Kaluba, a foodie, occasional vlogger and enthusiastic home caterer, who was intrigued by the lack and at times non-existence of caterers and catering establishments from the SADC region of Africa.

Growing up in Camden, in the 90s and living in a Zambian household, Chiz spent a lot of time helping his Mum and cousins prepare a variety of traditional meals, using any ingredients they could source at the time, in the UK and if lucky using any goodies brought over from Zambia....

It was here Chiz learnt the secrets of preparing various Zambian staples like Nshima (a maize staple), Ifisashi (a groundnut-based vegetable stew), Kapenta (small, sun-dried fish), Chikanda (a vegetarian "African polony" made from orchid tubers), "Chilemba" [Zambian Beans] and "Ifimbombo"(Stewed Cowfoot). Other notable dishes included Delele (okra), Vitumbuwa (a fried dough snack), Tute ne Mbalala (cassava with groundnuts), and various Ndiwo (sauces and relishes) all served with nshima.

This exposure led Chiz to a lifelong love of cooking for others and the enjoyment of introducing them to new flavours. In addition due to the extremely diverse communities in London, he was introduced to and began appreciating and most importantly, trying to cook and fuse the different cuisines he enjoyed......Particularly those from the Caribbean and other African countries.

Fast forward to late 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, Chiz began thinking of creating a catering company that could serve the communities he grew up in and around, whilst also introducing others to the fantastic hidden flavours of food from the SADC region and beyond... all served with a modern twist!

Encouraged by renowned UK Zambian Freelance Broadcast journalist. Master of Ceremonies TV Anchor at Ben TV sky channel 458 and Sports presenter at soonlineradio.com, J.C Chinode, after endless research, tester events and undertaking all the required food and hygiene related certifications, Chiz took the plunge and in 2022 Bantu Belly Catering Ltd was born!

Since then we've catered for numerous weddings, birthdays, christenings, bridal showers, funerals, engagement parties, pop-up festivals, charity events and corporate functions.

We continue to grow our business and increase the exposure of our cuisine, whilst striving to encourage everyone to Live2EAT!
